Patient Centered Innovation Fund
Thank you for your interest in applying for a Patient-Centered Innovation (PCI) Fund Grant. We look forward to reading about your idea and to providing the resources to make it a reality for our patients, families and caregivers. The first step in the application process is to submit a Letter of Intent (LOI) using the form provided below. Select candidates will be invited to submit a more detailed grant application.
The Patient Centered Innovation Fund was established in 2016 with the proceeds from the 2015 Gala. The purpose of this internal grant program is to provide seed funding to new patient- and family-centered care initiatives that would otherwise not be funded through the operational or capital budget.
Five proposals have already been awarded funding to date:
Richard Catanzaro, MD: Behavioral Health Unit Comfort Room
Michael Silverman & Fran Gardner: Movement Disorder Wellness and Caregiver Exercise Class
Paul White, MD, Richard Stumacher, MD and Abby Rosmarin: End-of-life conflict resolution and communication techniques curriculum
Susana Dealmeida and Katie Griffin: Distraction Cart for Diversional Activities
Angela Watts: Comfort Care Boxes
These PCI-Funded initiatives are advancing the Planetree mission throughout our hospital in imaginative new ways to the benefit of our patients and their caregivers, and your idea could be next!
Empowering Patients and Family Caregivers:
Class instructor Peter Racioppo guides patients and their caregivers through a PCI grant-funded pilot exercise program that builds strength, flexibility and cardiovascular fitness in a supportive environment.
