NWH Forms Partnership with Westchester Land TrustMay 04, 2016
New partnership between Westchester Land Trust and Northern Westchester Hospital formed to bring awareness to our community of the beneficial relationship between human wellness and our access to nature.
A kick-off event was on April 30th in the Zofnass Family Preserve in Pound Ridge, where over 30 kids and adults participated in a free Family Wellness Hike. It was hosted by NWH and WLT, and led by WLT’s Director of Stewardship, Tate Bushell, and NWH’s Director of Community Health Education & Outreach, Maria Simonetti. The event was the first collaboration between a health provider and a conservation organization in Westchester.
Another event is planned this month. Upcoming events are again open to the community, and will include people who have completed their rehabilitation program at NWH’s Ambulatory Care Center at Chappaqua Crossing and who are now incorporating holistic therapies into their post-surgical care.
People interested in attending one of these free events can email NWH’s Whitney Wasserman, firstname.lastname@example.org. Space is limited.
