NWH prides itself on its pediatric specialties, and makes every effort to put children – and their parents – at ease during their time in the hospital.
Understanding our littlest patients and their families
Private rooms are available for children and families before procedures. Toys, puzzles, and videos are available to help distract young patients, while on-staff dogs are available to delight and soothe with their companionship.
Children who are able to can take advantage of a dedicated playroom, and all pediatric patients are offered the love and affection of a friendly Pet Therapy visit. Parents are welcome to stay overnight (on the unit) in their child’s room, and a family pantry and shower is available to accommodate the needs of the parents.
If your child will be coming to the Hospital, be sure to read about how to prepare your child for his or her visit. For more information, call 914.666.1049.
Northern Westchester Hospital and Children’s and Women’s Physicians of Westchester, LLP (CWPW) have partnered to provide pediatric surgical services to patients at Northern Westchester Hospital.

Importantly, CWPW surgeons participate in Northern Westchester Hospital's ongoing surgical quality assurance programs and assist in the ongoing education and training of nurses at NWH, continuously enhancing the surgical care provided to our patients. CWPW is one of the largest medical practices in the nation providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care to women, infants, children and adolescents.
