Call for an Appointment: 914.242.8150
An individual or a physician can call to make an appointment for an initial consultation. Before the consultation, the patient will receive a call from the Pain Management Dept. Preliminary questions about the individual’s pain complaint will be asked. If available in advance of the visit, copies of the patient’s medical records will be obtained.
Initial Consultation and Diagnosis
A comprehensive evaluation will be performed by a fellowship-trained board-certified Anesthesiologist, who specializes in the treatment of pain disorders. The evaluation process usually includes a detailed medical history and physical examination. In order to determine the diagnosis of the pain complaint, it may be necessary to run diagnostic tests, including neurological, laboratory, radiological, physiological, and behavioral assessment examinations.
After discussing the diagnosis with the patient, the Pain Management Physician will discuss treatment options. Depending upon the patient’s individualized plan, treatment will begin. The referring physician will be informed of the progress of each patient.
Together, the patient and the Pain Management team will evaluate the success of treatment. Modifications to the treatment plan will be made according to success.
Return to Your Primary Care Physician
Once the patient has completed their treatment program, you will be returned to the care of your referring or primary care physician.
