Northern Westchester Hospital's highly-credentialed surgical specialists routinely perform minimally invasive surgeries to treat a wide range of conditions.
NWH attracts minimally invasive surgery experts in virtually every discipline, including: urology, neurosurgery, cardiovascular surgery, gynecology, gyn-oncology, orthopedics, otolaryngology, gastroenterology, and general surgery.
Our state-of-the-art operating rooms are equipped with the latest technology, such as high-definition (HD) monitors for better visualization. This dedicated operating room is used exclusively for minimally invasive and laparoscopic procedures.
A cornerstone to our Minimally Invasive Surgery program is the leading-edge technology of the da Vinci® Robot. The Robot enables our surgeons to conduct minimally invasive surgery with greater precision by enhancing their skills with delicate instrumentation, which enables a greater degree of surgical steadiness and finesse.
The robot also utilizes 3-D high resolution imaging that provides surgeons with greater visualization.

This increased range of motion, improved dexterity, and enhanced visualization enables surgeons to perform procedures that weren’t previously possible through other techniques.
Benefits of this technological break-through include:

NWH is one of only a few hospitals outside of New York City that use the da Vinci® Robotic System for minimally invasive surgery. Conditions treated by the da Vinci® Robot include cancers of the prostate, kidneys, and bladder and gynecologic cancers, as well as fibroids and ovarian cysts.

Dedicated minimally invasive operating roomsare equipped with the latest minimally invasive technologies such as high definition (HD) monitors, providing surgeons enhanced visibility.
Specially trained nursing team dedicated to minimally invasive and robotic surgery.
All nine operating rooms are equipped with the PACS (Picture Archiving Communication System), which allows the surgeon to digitally view radiology images taken at NWH or one of the Hospital’s outpatient radiology centers. With PACS, physicians are able to make more informed patient care decisions.
Intraoperative CAT scan systems allow the surgeons to verify the outcomes of a procedure before the patient leaves the Operating Room.
