I am writing in regards to my recent stay at Northern Westchester Hospital from March 3 to March 16, 2010 and again from March 24 to March 26, 2010. I want to express my appreciation for the excellent care I received during my stay. I was admitted to the operating room to an enlarged prostate. After the recuperating (step down) room, I was sent to floor 4 South to finish recuperating. Unfortunately blood clots kept developing and would not clear. During my stay i was irrigated many times until a second operation was done to alleviate the problem. The second time I was admitted to the emergency room and then to floor 6 south because of bleeding started again. I have to say the excellent care I received from Dr. Roger Reichers though all this was beyond all expectations. He arrived very early and stayed on top of everything. He was both compassionate and professional. he was the one who got me through all this.
Dr. Rosen also worked diligently to help with problems caused by my anemia. I also want to commend all the nurses, techs, cleaning staff, meal staff and all others who make up a wonderful team at Northern Westchester Hospital. They were all professional, wonderful and compassionate. Many times they would be walking out the door and I would call them back in for another clot. Once at night after the doctor was called in on complications, one nurse even stayed working on me for a very long time. Other staff had a workout at times in cleaning up after I had a problem. I cannot say enough about all the staff and their cheerful dispositions.
My appreciation for the medical profession went from no thoughts to how important and necessary you all are. Thank you and everyone again for a wonderful hospital and staff.
