My husband and I spent several hours in the Emergency Room on the night of July 6th and I wanted to take the time to express my appreciation to the staff taking care of us. From the gentleman who parked our car and the young lady at the registration desk to the nurses and technicians that rendered direct care to my husband...we were treated with respect and kindness throughout.
I especially want to commend Dr. Jill Walkman and ER nurse Sarah Luduca. Throughout the five hours we spent evaluating my husband's severe knee pain, these women took the time to consult with us about the tests that were being done, made sure that his pain level was being addressed and patiently answered our questions. Never once did I feel either of them was talking at us but, rather to us. And this was evident as I watched them interact with the other patients that evening.
I was especially impressed with Dr. Waldman. Not only did she consider an observation that I made about my husband's knee that was not a part of her initial assessment, she took the time to research a possible etiology for his pain that she was unfamiliar with.
Ms Laduca was professional throughout but with that special something that goes beyond caring for a patient's needs. Her ability to make each patient feel as if he or she is the only person in the ER is a gift.
I would also mention LPN Patricia Nester, who drew blood from my husband. We didn’t have a lot of contact with her but she certainly brightened up the room while she was there.
I would appreciate it if you would pass this on to the ER staff with our thanks and let them know their kindness is not overlooked.
