According to recent findings, exercise has been shown to be both safe and beneficial for cancer patients in improving their physical functioning and quality of life. The Medically Supervised Exercise Program, introduced by Northern Westchester Hospital as a part of its Cancer Wellness Initiative, offers exercise curriculums for both cancer patients and cancer survivors. The six to twelve week programs are individually designed and supervised, with periodic reassessment to maintain consistency as well as to modify the program based on the needs and ability of the patient.
