Westchester Sees Healthy Growth in Hospital Construction
The increasing medical needs of aging baby boomers and prospects under Obamacare have led to increased hospital construction in Westchester County.
Northern Westchester Hospital in Mount Kisco will receive $1 million that will go toward constructing six operating rooms, 13 post-anesthesia care units and new surgical space – a project that will nearly double current emergency room space.
In addition to the expansion planned at Northern Westchester Hospital, other projects planned for Westchester hospital growth include an annex of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Montefiore Medical Center, and Sound Shore Medical Center in New Rochelle.
