Our Staff Members Recognized for Commitment and Outstanding Performance
Cathy Tarpey was named ‘Colleague of the Year’ at this year’s Staff Recognition event. And we recognized two long-standing employees for their loyalty and substantial years of service, 45 and 50 years -- milestones that are a first at Northern Westchester Hospital.
Cathy Tarpey was recognized for her expertise, professionalism and commitment to patients as she was named ‘Colleague of the Year’.
Tom Tucker was acknowledged for his impressive years of service. Mr. Tucker, a resident of Yorktown, has been part of the NWH family for 50 years, joining the team when he was 20 years old as an autopsy assistant. Since then, he has continuously worked in the laboratory and pathology.
“Everything’s exciting and interesting. I’ve worked with very intelligent people and been able to learn a great deal – I’m still learning,” offered Mr. Tucker. "Simply put, you like a place, you stay!"
Eleanor Leffort, was recognized for 45 years of service at NWH. She’s worked in three departments within the hospital during her tenure and has been part of the Cancer Treatment and Wellness Center for the past seven years. Ms. Leffort shared, that “the people are great and all the patients I’ve come in contact with make the job here in the Cancer Center so worthwhile.”
“The staff recognition event is always a wonderful occasion, but this year it was extremely special with the recognition of Eleanor and Tom for their loyalty and commitment to the hospital and the community we serve,” said Kerry Flynn-Barrett, Vice President Human Resources, Northern Westchester Hospital.
