Susan Reichin’s Story
I recently had shoulder surgery at Northern Westchester Hospital by Dr. Victor Khabie. That was the first step in my wonderful experience in your hospital. He is indeed deserving of his stellar reputation and I got lucky having him as my surgeon. Naturally, I was very nervous about having to undergo any kind of medical procedure, but the parts are wearing out and they are out of warrantee. Surgery was arranged and the morning arrived.
From the time I walked in, until the time I left, I don’t think I could have had a better experience at any other facility. I am not an easy patient. I like to whine if heaven forbid the physician does his job well and wants me to actually be OK to go home, when I want to leave from the operating room table. I respond well to smiles and caring all of which were in abundance as if they really understood that this was a traumatic day in my busy life. I even got “Boris” the anesthesiologist to smile when I got him to show me his gorgeous baby. I predict she will change him in ways he never thought possible!
I know Northern Westchester Hospital has changed my usual dread into a place of safe harbor if I have to undergo the fixing of any other limbs gone rogue. The nurses are amazing and all caregivers did exactly that. No leaving a patient in the hall while a cell phone is answered. Looking a patient right in the eye and speaking with them as an equal. I think that is marvelous and I thank you. Many thanks for your excellence.
