The Breast Institute Testimonials

Maisam Fazel

I was particularly impressed by the shift in focus towards an aesthetic experience and outcome without compromising the rigour of surgical oncology. The journey of a breast cancer patient is unlikely to ever be easy, but I am certain this journey is much enhanced by the elegant environment, complementary treatments and close collaboration between breast & plasic surgery that the Institute offers. Finally, it is obvious you have a team that is not only highly skilled but who is also very proud to be part of the Institute. This was reflected by the medical, nursing, and administrative staff in their welcoming and warm attitude towards me throughout my visit.

I doubt there is enough room on this form for the kinds of details which deserve to be given the highest of praise. From Dr. Karen Arthur to Dr. Danielle Pytell, the entire staff, the care, skill and compassion which I experienced throughout - from diagnosis to post surgery leave me humbled and thankful.

Dr.Vasile … is amazing not only as a surgeon but as a person, and I mean [it when I say] how invaluable the Northern Westchester Hospital experience was for my family and I. My best/favorite nurse Marin has so much compassion, whatever patients get her are in good hands.....kudos to Northern Westchester Hospital!!!!

Elissa Casa

My name is Elissa Casa, and I had breast reduction surgery performed by Danielle DeLuca-Pytell on Decemeber 21, 2012. I am writing to let you know of the exceptional experience that I had at the Institue for Aesthetic Surgery in Northern Westchester Hospital. I had been working with both Dr. DeLuca-Pytell and Louann Streeter for three years to have my surgery covered by my insurance. Once I decided to pay for the surgery privately, I had no doubt in my mind that I wanted it performed by Dr. DeLuca-Pytell. My aunt had accompanied me to many of my appointments over the years, and Louann and Dr. DeLuca-Pytell had always been extremely accommodating to both of us. My visits with Dr. DeLuca-Pytell were always professional and informative, and I never felt as though I was being rushed. She always made sure that every question that either myself or my aunt had was answered. If we ever needed more information, Louann was diligent in finding answers and returning our calls promptly. She also worked closely with my aunt in helping schedule my surgery on the day that was most convenient for me. Their service was outstanding all the way up to the day of my surgery, and has continued to be ever since. This procedure was the first surgery I had ever had; and it was also my first experience staying in a hospital. As you can imagine, I was very nervous. The day before surgery, Nurse Kathy Aufant called me for my pre-op interview. She answered all of my questions, and helped put me at ease. Kathy told me that she would care for me as if I was one of her own daughters. On the day of the surgery, she kept her promise. Both Kathy and Nurse Toni Brandofino were kind and caring. Dr. Steven Drexler, my anesthesiologist, was also outstanding. He knew I was nervous about being placed under anesthesia, and did everything he could to help me relax. Dr. Drexler made my family and I feel that my comfort was top priority. By the time Dr. DeLuca-Pytell and Dr. John Ho (who was observing my surgery that day) came in to do my markings, I was beginning to feel very nervous. The doctors' presence and reassuring words soon calmed me down, and I felt more ready than ever to have my surgery. Everyone who I came into contact with that day did everything they could to make me comfortable. While I was lying on the operating table about to go to sleep, I remember thinking to myself, "I am so glad that this is my team." I couldn't have asked for a better one. After my surgery, I was moved to the pediatrics unit where I met Susan Albano, who would be my nurse for the evening. I cannot stress enough how accommodating she was to both me and my father (who was staying overnight with me). She was gentle, and explained everything she was doing and why she was doing it. She even went so far as to try to come in and take my temperature when she saw that I was awake, se when Susan helped set up my father's cot and found me the rice pudding I was craving, we couldn't have been happier. Angela, who was my tech for the first portion of the night, was also wonderful. She was so kind and helpful. I was so appreciative of the same time she took with me; she even helped me fix my hair into a ponytail. These small but thoughtful gestures truly make a difference, because I felt as though I was in the care of family, not strangers. Since my surgery, i have received nothing but outstanding care from everyone at the Institute. Even the day I dreaded most, my drain removal, was made better by Dr. Ho and Nurse Eileen Kelly's exceptional patient care. I always look forward to my appointments with Dr. DeLuca-Pytell, and still call Louann for plenty of follow-up questions. m Dr. DeLuca-Pytell's nurse, Ena Narayan, has also been extremely welcoming and helpful whenever I come in for my appointments. I cannot thank everyone enough for the wonderful care that I have received with my breast reduction surgery. It has been a life-changing experience, and I am so happy to have had it at the Institute for Aesthetic Surgery. If I ever need another procedure of this nature, I would come running, not walking, back to Dr. DeLuca-Pytell and her team.
