Rates of Active Influenza are Peaking Now
It is not too late to be vaccinated against the flu this season.
The healthy adult population—who do not regularly seek health care and who do not have underlying diseases—are less likely to get vaccinated against influenza . Influenza this year has affected younger adult patients and has caused increased illness and even fatalities among the young adult population, says Debra Spicehandler, MD, an infectious diseases specialist and Co-Chair of the Infection Control Committee at Northern Westchester Hospital.
